Resources for Parents on Crisis in Armenia

Glendale Council PTA recognizes the existential crisis taking place in Artsakh and Armenia and the emotional turmoil this has caused in the Glendale Unified School District community. We acknowledge this is an extremely difficult time for our students, staff and families, many of whom have recently immigrated to the States and have experienced displacement and trauma.

Glendale Council PTA stands for justice and would like to support our Armenian community by raising awareness of the current humanitarian crisis and political strife taking place in their homeland. In the words of Martin Luther King Jr., “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” Our strength is in our unity. We can collectively eliminate injustices when we come together as a community. 

Glendale Council PTA encourages everyone to educate themselves on what's transpiring in Armenia so we can better understand the impact of the situation and support our Armenian families in GUSD.

Parents know that they play an important role in their child’s success. But traditional family engagement practices don’t always meet the needs of each and every family, nor treat them as equal partners in ensuring their child’s success.
